Minitrix models were made from the late 1960s consisting mainly of German and British prototypes. North American prototypes were also manufactured and marketed under the Aurora, Tortoise, Model Power and Con-Cor brands. There was also a short-lived ‘Hornby Minitrix’ brand in the 1980s which utilised the earlier tooled British outline models. Marklin took the brand over in 1997 and therefore had a foothold in the N Gauge market for the first time. Since then, there has been some commonality between the Marklin, Trix and Minitrix brands and this economy of scale has ensured all three brands to thrive.-
